Just had to today. Definitely missing Seattle a tiny bit more today after seeing this.
Why is it no one told me about this sooner?! As a crazy obsessed popcorn lover, I had NO idea that my beloved food had a whole month dedicated to it! I mean, had I known, I would have hosted a Popcorn Poppin’ Bonanza for all of my fellow popcorn lovin’ cronies – not sure who those people are, but hey, they have to exist, right? I would have at least eaten popcorn for dinner every night…ok, that is not true or that great of a dinner, but I have been known to eat popcorn for dinner every once in awhile (more often then I care to share).
If you live in Seattle or want to take a trip to Seattle and love yourself some popcorn just like me, go here, I promise you will not regret it. I have dreams about their Brown Butter and Sea Salt popcorn. You think I am joking? Please.
Thank goodness it is only half-way through the month, still plenty of time to get my pop on!
Popcorn Poppin’ Month – October is National Popcorn Poppin’ Month
For more than 30 years, October has been celebrated as National Popcorn Poppin’ Month; however, it became “official” in 1999, when then Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman proclaimed October as National Popcorn Poppin’ Month.
While every day is a great day for celebrating popcorn, we chose the month of October because of the popcorn harvest which takes place each fall in the Midwest. Each year when the new crop is harvested, it reminds us popcorn will always be the naturally fun snack for the entire family. Popcorn Poppin’ Month is the perfect time to celebrate popcorn!
This girl is desperately wishing for some Cougar Crest Dedication wine. It is just so fabulous and since it is extra cozy outside today, I feel like curling up with a
glass, fine, fine at the very least two glasses, of it tonight.
They are up to Five!
Can anyone make this happen?! I mean who cares about the crazy MA liquor laws and shipping right??
Today is going to be a great football Sunday. Game one – Seahawks and Bears. Proud to be from Seattle and excited to cheer on my home team!
Game two – Patriots and Jets. Very excited to experience the excitement of New England playoff time. Heading to a Pats bar in Davis Square where the crowd is sure to be rowdy and the beers will flowing.
Seahawks and Patriots – Super Bowl??? That would be sure to guarantee me watching more than just the commercials. 😉
